MR/OC 3570 Link MR/OC3570 Operational Meteorology and Oceanography students will perform research-quality measurements on a cruise for a few days. Students analyze the data and present the results in oral and written reports. It is offered in the winter and summer quarters.

MR 3212 Polar Meteorology

(Past and future? course)

Students in this course will grasp the basic concepts related to global warming, polar climates, polar storm systems, mesoscale circulations, air-sea-ice interaction and electromagnetic propagation, with emphasis on how these processes affect ship operations. Dr Guest taught Polar Meteorology for 12 years. In 2002, it was dropped as a required course for METOC (Meteorology-Oceanography) officers at the Naval Postgraduate School. In recent years it has not been offered. Please see Dr. Guest if you might be interested in taking the course.
